Effective October 2018, the CARN and CARN-AP programs have been granted accreditation by ABSNC!

In order to recertify, one will need 80 points of credit as well as verification of a minimum of 1,200 hours of advanced practice nursing related to primary, secondary, or tertiary prevention of addictions within the past four years. Practice can include managing, supervising, educating, consulting, ordirecting other persons to help achieve patient goals related to prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.  At least 51% of the 80 CEU’s for recertification must be directly related to Addictions Nursing.

$325 – IntNSA Members, $375 – Non-IntNSA Members 



4 years from the date of passing exam.

* Current license as an RN in the United States, its territories, or Canada.
* Minimum of 2 years of plastic surgical nursing experience as an RN.
* Spend at least 50% of practice hours in plastic surgical nursing during 2 of the preceding 5 years.
* Be in compliance with state regulations of the practice of hemodialysis patient-care technicians, if applicable. Applicants must meet the experience requirement (for certification) of the state in which they practice.
