HOW ARE SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS PROVIDED THROUGH C-NET? 

        C-NET provides reasonable accommodations for any applicant having documentation of a diagnosed disability in accordance with the Americans with     

        Disabilities Act. To request accommodations, you'll need to have an appropriate diagnosing professional complete the application for Special

        Accommodation found at the bottom of this page. Once completed, email the form back to C-NET at info@cnetnurse.com.​

I ALREADY HAVE  DOCUMENTATION OF A DIAGNOSED DISABILITY, DO I STILL NEED TO SUBMIT A SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION APPLICATION TO MY DOCTOR?

        For your disability evaluation to be acceptable, your documentation must be:

        A) RECENT: Signed within the past three years

        B) COMPREHENSIVE: Objective evidence of a disability must show that the applicant has substantial limitations, which impede the ability to 

          take standardized tests.

        C) INSTRUCTIONAL: Documentation should list require accommodations.

        D) SIGNED: The evaluation must be performed and signed by an appropriate diagnosing professional.

 

I HAVE TEST ANXIETY. DOES THIS MEAN I NEED SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION? 

        Testing anxiety is common to most people. However, to be covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act, test anxiety must pass two legal tests. First, it

        must be a "mental impairment." Secondly, it must "substantially limit one or more of the major life activities.” Documentation supporting a diagnosis of

        test anxiety should include evidence of significant impairment in test performance.

 

 CAN THE TEST BE GIVEN IN MY LANGUAGE?

        English as a second language is not considered by the ADA to be a “disability.” The examination you are applying for is an English language certification       

        meant to establish that a person can meet all requirements of a nationally certified health professional in the United States, including the reading of     

        forms, documenting activities, and establishing clear communication with both doctors and patients in the English language.

 

CAN I TEST IN THE PAPER AND PENCIL FORMAT?

        Not all exams are available in a paper and pencil format. To request a paper and pencil as a special accommodation requires that your doctor document          how this testing format is medically necessary. Be advised, paper and pencil formatted exams required that we scout suitable locations near you and hire            a proctor, so set up time may be a lot longer.  Additionally, the grading process for this format is done manually and can take anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks

        for your results to be returned.

 

HOW LONG MUST I WAIT TO RECEIVE A DATE FOR SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION TESTING?

        This depends mainly on the type of accommodation being requested. While we strive to accommodate everyone as quickly as possible, some

        accommodations, such as Time-and-a-Half, are fairly quick to set up at our computer-based locations, while other accommodations may be more 

        involved.

 

CAN I REQUEST ACCOMMODATIONS AFTER I HAVE BEEN ISSUED A PERMIT TO TEST?

        You’ll want to request special accommodations before submitting your application for certification testing. However, if you submit your test application 

        before requesting accommodation, you’ll want to alert C-NET immediately by emailing our customer service desk at info@cnetnurse.com. Otherwise, the

        permit you receive will be for standard testing only (without accommodation).
