Founded by Dr. Margery Garbin in 1992, the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET) has provided a complete range of test development and administration services for over 30 years. Although the RNCB is one of the smaller boards working with C-NET, that did not deter them from working diligently to automate the CRN exam and partner with PSI to ensure the computerized testing process for the exam would be successful. Other services provided to RNCB by C-NET include item writing, practice analysis/role delineation studies, sending test permits to candidates, and reporting of test results. Item writing, for example, can be a long and tedious process, but C-NET has an uncanny ability to make it enjoyable while still challenging the item writers to develop exam-worthy questions.
