Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing education program accredited by the NLNAC or the CCNE, two (2) years working as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a minimum of 800 clinical practice hours of providing patient care to urologic patients, plus current recognition by the state board of nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). (If currently certified as a Certified Urologic Registered Nurse (CURN) the NP requires one (1) year of NP experience with 800 clinical practice hours of providing patient care to urologic patients.

  • Hold current certification as a nurse practitioner from a national certifying board: American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), National Certification Corporation (NCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Pediatric Nurse Certification Board (PNCB).

  • Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), National Certification Corporation (NCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or Pediatric Nurse Certification Board (PNCB) in a generalist area.

Your certification officially begins on the day you pass the exam and will last for three years.

Exam Dates & Deadlines:

NOTICE:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, standard procedures for exam dates and deadlines have been temporarily amended. Starting on January 1ST, 2021, C-NET will accept applications for this certification year-round. No deadlines or late fees shall apply for Computer-Based Testing.

 

Be Advised: These testing procedures are subject to change in the future as the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

 

Application Processing

Please allow four weeks (from the time C-NET receives your application) for processing and review.  Should C-NET require further information to complete its review of your submission, we will contact you using the email address provided on your application. When your application is approved, our testing partner PSI will send a link to your email address, allowing you to schedule an examination date online. Along with your link, you will be granted a 90-day testing window. You must both schedule and sit for your examination within the 90 days provided.

 

Extension Requests

If you need to extend your testing window after scheduling your exam with PSI, you must do so by emailing our customer service desk at info@cnetnurse.com. When requesting an extension, be sure to provide your name, the last four digits of your social security number, and the name of the test you are taking.
